Dare, Marie (1902-76) - Valse  Ref: 2--008 Marie Dare was a Scottish cellist and composer. This waltz - written for cello with piano, but with minor adaptation equally at home on the viola - packs a surprising amount into three minutes. Beautifully shaped, with a strong climax, much harmonic interest and a basically sunny, song-like nature, it would make a good encore. see sample score
